Baggage in the Bedroom

Do you take baggage to bed with you? It can become quite cumbersome if you do. To the point that no one enjoys what goes on behind closed doors.

Do you take baggage to bed with you?  It can become quite cumbersome if you do.  To the point that no one enjoys what goes on behind closed doors.

So, why not unload it?  Oh, I see. It’s chained to your ankles.  Got it.  So what’s in your baggage?  You gotta be kiddin’ me! Something that happened, 5, 10, 20, even 30 years ago? Say it’s not so!

How did you get to this place of becoming a prisoner to your past?  Many people do.  It  can affect every walk of life.  But, the saddest thing of all is when it affects intimacy between a husband and wife.

Can’t let go of some injustice in your past? Perhaps an incident of sexual abuse. Perhaps your spouse was unfaithful, you stayed together, but compromise came with conditions, i.e., you would never surrender completely to him/her again, if at all. Or, maybe you simply have personal issues that keep you from fulfilling your spouse’s needs. That’s still baggage, regardless if it has anything at all to do with the past. These things keep you from following God’s plan for the Covenant Relationship.

On today’s Just Ask Joyce Hour, we will work through those issues with you and help you unlock those chains that keep you prisoner to your baggage.  There’s no room in your bedchamber for baggage from the past – regardless of its temporal nature. You only need an overnight bag, and you want to make sure it’s packed with tools for a great night of romance with you and your spouse!  Don’t miss today on WFIA 94.7 at 3:00p, in the Kentuckiana area, or stream it live right here on my website. You’ll be glad you did … and so will your marriage!
